Default Gladiator point conversion is flawed

Nice update, except...
All current Gladiator point totals will be multiplied by 6.

This is not fair imo.
Bassically the requirment is multiplied by 4.
Old Gladiator point is worth 3 times more than new point.

For example:
Old-> You only get 1 point for each 10 consecutive wins.
New-> Each additional 5 wins after the initial point is earned will give players an added bonus Gladiator point. Thus, players also earn 2 Gladiator points for their 10th consecutive win, 3 Gladiator points for their 15th consecutive win, and 4 Gladiator points for their 20th consecutive win.

So you get at least 3 point for 10 consecutive wins now.
As for my old 30 consecutive wins, well, forget it.

All current Gladiator point totals should be multiplied by (4*3) AT LEAST.
instead of (4*1.5).

Sounds crazy? That's why I said the multipler should be DYNAMIC instead of a constant.
Althought it raised my rank by 1, but, new gladiator point is so easy to farm.

they multiplied the requirements for each rank by too much, imo. since they halved the wins required for a point, they should have just doubled the requirements for each rank and tripled our current points. and maybe cap the bonus points for 10 wins and above to 3.

All I know is that my title track is still as far away as it used to be, but that I got 2 gladiator points in an hour and a half instead of playing for three or more hours just hoping to get one.

They finally catered PvP to a more casual audience while giving the hardcore PvPers a bigger reward for all their dedication. So, I'm pretty pleased with this update.

OP, the old system did not count all of the 5 wins in a row people got only 10 in a row. -- lots and lots of times old people got 5-9 in a row and got nothing... there is no way to quantify all of the old stats to the new system.

Agree, anet doesn't have this info, all they can do is come up with a math formula to multiple current points to give the fairest they can give to existing players.

That's why I said the multipler should not be a constant.
New sys is somewhat like the fame system.
But the old gladiator system is just linear.
For the high ranked player, the conversion is just not fair imo.

Exactly.

This is also a way to "reward" people with the older title. Don't forget, not only was it a lot harder to get 10 wins in a row to get a point, but you still had to deal with the leavers and griefers/runners that you don't have now.

I think its fair. Note, I don't have a Glad title atm, despite all my expereince in HA, GvG and my many times getting 8 or 9 wins in a row and then dieing. So its not like I'm biased and just defending this because I like my new higher title or anything (since I don't have it)

nope, due to dishonor system each game takes 10x longer to finish because u cant leave when ur team is obviously not going to win.

Dishonor gets wiped away after 60 minutes. Anyways, if you are doing RA to farm glad points......
So, bail from two groups, third group you stick with, after your group finally loses those points from bailing will be gone.

Eh i LOVE most of the improvments...but i think the math beind the gladitor is flawed...I get the 6x thing (tbh im sure it was a move to stop bitching)

but it now takes 4 times more points to get the title..

but you only get 3 points for reaching 10? or am i missing something here

I don't like that glad points are farmable now, and much more easily than hero points. I'll stick to doing it the hard way, tyvm.
Say goodbye to the days that a glad title actually meant something.

It was more farmable before, when people would quit matches immidately until they got in a "good team" or sinc join with 3 guidies until they joined on the same team.

... didn't it already take 10x longer when people refused to stay 'because' of that reason? I've been playing with the strangest of groups, and I can get 5 wins or 10 wins now and then. I can't say that it's any faster with people leaving, but it's definitely not slower.

Basically, their conversion is that, for every glad point you got before the change, you also had at least three 5-win streaks with it. So, 3 + 1 + 1 + 1.

I think that's a pretty fair claim.

Exactly. I won 14 RA matches in a row with 2 ineptitude mesmers, a Ebon Dust Aura Dervish/Paragon using a spear, and mobius impale sin.

Do you think that group would have stuck together before today? No, somebody would have said "oh crap no monk/rt" and just leave.

They are not going to fix it, so I wouldn't bother bringing it up. They are working on GW2, not caring one bit about their old game anymore. Gotta love when small companies evolve into retarded big businesses don't ya?
